Library Catalogues now available on the Trust network Users of any PC on the hospital network at either site can access the library catalogues of both the Central Middlesex Hospital Library and the John Squire Library at Northwick Park & St. Mark's Hospitals. You can search and see what books we have in stock, as well as whether they are on loan. You can also browse the journal lists, both for print and electronic journals, and also see what Imperial College videos we stock. User accessing this site from outside the hospital will not be able to search the catalogues just yet, although we hope to enable access eventually. 26/10/2004 Tours of the John Squire Library are now held at 4pm every weekday, and we would encourage all new and existing members to attend. The tour will help to familiarise you with the layout of the library and explain how to use our services to locate information. It will take about 20 minutes, although we can spend a bit longer if necessary. There is no need to book for the 4pm tours – just turn up! Other times can be arranged if necessary. If you wish to have a group tour, you can book another time, and if you give us enough notice, we can tailor the tour to your particular speciality. We can also offer training sessions on searching Medline and CINAHL on KA24, or on using the Cochrane Library on NeLH. For training sessions on these topics we do ask that you contact us in advance to book a time, and it best to allow at least an hour for training - half an hour to have instruction on how to use the database, and then time to have go yourself and get help with any particular problems that arise. 16/9/2004 |
